Sarah became a student of St. Louis Irish Arts in 1992. Along with her dance lessons, Sarah began playing the tin whistle as a child and soon after began playing the flute.
Sarah first travelled to Ireland to compete in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, which is the All-Ireland Music Championships, in 1997. She returned to compete in 1998, 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2008. At the age of 10, Sarah was selected to join the St. Louis Irish Arts senior grupai cheoil ensemble. She played in the group that won the All-Ireland title in 2004 and returned to compete with the senior group in 2007. Sarah’s flute playing can be heard on all four volumes in the St. Louis Irish Arts collection.

Sarah earned the Gold Congressional Medal in 2003. She is currently a fourth year undergraduate student at St. Louis University and will graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism in May 2009.
Sarah currently teaches flute and tin whistle for St. Louis Irish Arts. Sarah is a presidential scholar at St. Louis University where she is the Editorals Editor at The University News. Sarah also serves as the 2008/9 President of the Missouri College Media Association.
